A Letter of Support for Greg Nickels for Mayor of Seattle
To the Vietnamese Community of Seattle,
This is my first letter of endorsement for a political
candidate. I have learned to be neutral in
regarding to political affiliation. I believe it is
important to vote for the most qualified candidate,
who is committed to representing the underprivileged
and the disenfranchised.
As Vietnamese-Americans, we do not have a voice in the
political process in the city of Seattle. The elected
officials and even the candidates for political
offices have not tried to reach out to our community.
This is because they know most Vietnamese-Americans do
not vote.
However, Greg Nickels is the only elected official I
know that has shown his support for the
Vietnamese Community by listening empathically
whenever I testified to either the King County Council
or the Sound Transit Board. He has repeatedly reached
out to me even though I don't have money, power, or
influence.
I hope you will show your support for Greg Nickels by
attending the Greg Nickels Kickoff Breakfast Campaign
for Mayor of Seattle. It will be the morning of
Wednesday, April 18th at the Westin Hotel. But more
importantly, I hope you will cast your vote for him as
the next Mayor of Seattle.
Sincerely,
Tuan Tran
